The eligibility criteria and application procedure for the Free Electric Scooter Scheme for women have been announced. The Sindh government has officially shared the details regarding the eligibility requirements and application process for the scheme.
The purpose of this initiative is to reduce the challenges faced by women in the province and to empower them. To benefit from the scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Sindh and either a student or an employed woman. The applicant must also hold a valid driving license.
Additionally, if selected through the lottery draw, the recipient will be bound not to sell the scooter for seven years. Selected women will also be required to take a road safety skills test.
The distribution of electric scooters will be carried out through a lottery draw. To ensure transparency, a committee will be formed comprising representatives from the Excise, Transport, and Finance Departments, as well as media representatives.
