The Sindh Education Department has officially revised the school and college timings across the province for the academic year 2025. This update applies to all public and private institutions and is aimed at improving student safety and learning conditions, particularly in response to rising summer temperatures.
New School Timings in Sindh – 2025
As per the latest notification issued by the Directorate of School Education, the following timings will be observed:
- Morning Shift Schools:
- Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Evening Shift Schools (if applicable):
- Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Friday: Off or flexible as per administrative discretion
These timings are applicable from August 1, 2025, and are expected to remain effective until further orders from the department.

Updated College Timings in Sindh – 2025
The College Education Department Sindh has also announced updated hours for all colleges:
- Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
All public and private colleges must strictly follow this revised schedule.
Why the Timings Were Changed
This decision was made after consultation with weather and health experts to prevent heat-related issues among students. The new schedule ensures learning continues in a safer, cooler environment and allows for better classroom engagement.

All district education officers (DEOs), school principals, and college heads have been instructed to:
- Inform students and parents in advance
- Display new timings on campus noticeboards
- Ensure punctuality and compliance
Non-compliance by any institution may lead to disciplinary action.
