The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a smog alert for multiple cities in eastern Punjab as the ongoing dry spell and rising atmospheric pollution continue to affect air quality.

Residents have been urged to take precautionary measures to avoid potential health risks. According to the Met Office, dry weather is expected across most parts of the country on Wednesday, with cold mornings and nights likely in hilly regions.

In Islamabad, conditions will remain dry with a noticeable chill during night and early morning hours.

Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather will mostly stay dry, while higher-altitude areas are expected to experience lower temperatures during the night and early morning.

In Punjab, dry conditions will persist in most districts including Murree and Galiyat. However, smog is expected to linger over Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Most districts of Sindh will remain hot and dry, with partly cloudy conditions possible in southeastern and coastal areas.

In Balochistan, dry weather is expected in most regions, though the northern parts will remain cold during morning and night hours. Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience cold and dry weather.
