Islamabad, June 10, 2025: The government has announced the imposition of an 18% sales tax on the import of solar panels, sparking concerns over a potential increase in prices.

Finance Minister revealed that a uniform 18% sales tax will now apply to all types of vehicles as well. Additionally, the tax exemption previously granted to the merged tribal districts has been withdrawn.

These new tax measures will be implemented gradually over the next five years, as part of the government’s broader fiscal reforms aimed at boosting revenue.
