In remote villages of Sindh, solar panels installed to power government schools are being stolen, often by the local villagers themselves. These panels were provided to ensure uninterrupted electricity for classrooms and to improve learning conditions for children.

Sindh’s Education Minister expressed disappointment over the incidents, stressing that the schools belong to the community and the children of these very villages benefit from them. He urged locals to realize that stealing such resources only harms their own children’s future.

The government had initiated the installation of solar panels to tackle frequent power outages in rural areas, aiming to provide a stable environment for education. However, thefts of this kind are undermining the efforts made to uplift education standards in backward regions.
