Islamabad, Aug 22: In comparison to the same period last year, the country’s exports of sporting products increased by 12.51 percent in the first month of the current fiscal year (2024–25).According to figures issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country exported sports items worth US$ 29.358 million in July 2024 compared to US$ 26.093 million in July 2023, indicating rise of 12.51 percent.
Football exports increased by 14.20 percent among sports goods during the reviewed month, rising from US$ 15.565 million to US$ 17.775 million. According to PBS data, gloves exports rose by 24.24 percent, from US$ 3.707 million to US$ 4.606 million, from the previous year.
Similarly, the exports of all other sporting items increased from US$ 6.821 million to US$ 6.977 million in the same month previous year, a 2.29 percent increase. In the meantime, the PBS data showed that, month over month, sports products exports fell by 13.54 percent in July 2024 compared to US$ 33.954 million in June 2024.Monthly, there was a 6.17 percent decline in the exports of all other sports products and a 17.65 percent fall in the exports of gloves and footballs, respectively.
