Islamabad, Dec 26: Stallions clinched the Champions T20 Cup title with a dominant 75-run victory over Markhors in the final at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday evening. The match saw a stellar performance from Yasir Ali, whose blistering century, followed by a match-winning spell of bowling by Mohammad Ali, led Stallions to a commanding victory.
Yasir Ali’s Century Powers Stallions
Choosing to bat first, Stallions set an imposing target of 200 runs. Yasir Ali was the hero of the innings, smashing a magnificent 100 off just 57 balls. His powerful knock featured seven sixes and five boundaries, taking the game away from Markhors. His century was the standout moment in Stallions’ total of 199-5 in their 20 overs, a score that proved too much for Markhors to chase.
Mohammad Ali Shines with Ball in Hand
Markhors’ chase faltered right from the start, as they were bowled out for a mere 124 runs in 19.1 overs. The Stallions’ bowlers dominated, with Mohammad Ali leading the charge, taking 3 wickets for just 19 runs. The key moment came when Ali dismantled the Markhors’ middle order, making it difficult for the chasing side to build any partnerships. Usman Tariq also played a vital role, taking 2 wickets for 10 runs.
Fakhar Zaman, who had been in excellent form throughout the tournament, was dismissed for a mere 20 runs by Jahandad Khan, who finished with figures of 2-31. Despite Mohammad Faizan’s fighting 43 off 33 balls, including three sixes and as many fours, the Markhors’ batting crumbled, leaving them well short of the target.

The final not only saw outstanding performances in the match but also throughout the tournament. Yasir Ali was named Player of the Final for his explosive century, while Mohammad Ali was awarded Player of the Tournament for his remarkable bowling, including his match-winning 3-19 in the final.
Hussain Talat was recognized as the Best Batter of the Tournament, and Mohammad Ali earned the title of Best Bowler, underscoring his crucial all-round contributions to Stallions’ title triumph.
