Islamabad, Feb 31: The State Bank of Pakistan has officially declared Monday, March 3, 2025, as a Bank Holiday across the country in observance of the first day of Ramadan and for the annual Zakat deduction process. As per the official notification, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public dealings on this date.
However, despite the closure for customers, the banking staff will be required to report to work as usual, treating it as a normal working day for internal operations. The State Bank has clarified that the holiday only applies to public-facing services, ensuring that the necessary financial procedures, including Zakat deduction from eligible accounts, are completed without disruption.
To minimize inconvenience, customers have been advised to plan their banking transactions in advance. While physical bank branches will be closed for public dealings, digital banking services, ATMs, and online banking platforms will remain fully operational, allowing users to perform essential transactions without interruption.
Regular banking operations, including over-the-counter services, are set to resume on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Customers seeking further details or assistance have been encouraged to contact their respective banks or visit the State Bank of Pakistan’s official website for updates.
