Islamabad, Aug 5, 2025: Weather forecast Storm Floris brought severe disruption to travel across the UK with powerful winds of up to 80mph hammering several regions and triggering widespread cancellations on Tuesday.

Scotland experienced the worst of the storm impacts where more than 43,000 properties were left without electricity by Monday night. Major transport services including air, rail, and ferry routes were halted due to official warnings about potential danger to human life.

According to Network Rail Scotland, crews have been deployed to clear blocked tracks caused by fallen trees and other debris after the storm caused what they termed as highly unusual weather conditions.

An amber alert remained active until 11pm for much of Scotland while a yellow advisory also stretched across parts of northern England, north Wales and Northern Ireland.
