Student Includes Rs1,000 in Answer Sheet, Requests Board to Pass Him
Islamabad, Jan 9: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) is currently addressing concerns following reports of students submitting unconventional answer sheets during recent examinations. Instances include submissions containing songs, stories, and even blank pages with only the question paper attached. In one notable case, a student enclosed a Rs. 1,000 note in their answer sheet with a plea: “This is all I could manage, please pass me.”
In response to these anomalies, BIEK Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah has established a committee comprising subject experts and a principal to thoroughly investigate the matter. The committee’s objective is to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the examination process. Chairman Shah emphasized, “We will not allow any injustice against the students,” and announced the creation of a complaints cell to address any concerns.
Fee Scrutiny and Reduction
The release of the 11th-grade exam results has sparked widespread dissatisfaction among students, parents, and political parties. In response to these concerns, the BIEK has announced a 50% reduction in the scrutiny fee for students seeking to review their exam papers. Previously set at Rs. 1,000 per paper, the fee is now reduced to Rs. 500. Scrutiny forms will be accepted until February 3, 2025, and students can download them along with the fee voucher from the Board’s official website.

Chairman Professor Ameer Hussain Qadri has been dismissed following widespread dissatisfaction with the 2024 intermediate annual examination results.Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, from the Board of Secondary Education Karachi, has been appointed as the interim chairman for a period of three months or until a regular appointment is made.
