The Smart Syllabus introduced by the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) for 9th class students has come under fire after major mistakes were discovered in science subjects.
According to education experts, the revised Smart Syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science has excluded several topics, yet questions related to those deleted lessons still appear in the exercises.
Chairman of Pak Awan-e-Taleem, Qazi Naeem Anjum, criticized PEC for its negligence, claiming that these mistakes could cause confusion and lead to mass failures among students across Punjab.
He revealed that the Chemistry syllabus alone contains nearly 50 errors, Physics has 85, Biology over 40 and Computer Science more than 21 errors.

Qazi Naeem Anjum acknowledged that the government’s decision to introduce a shortened syllabus for flood-affected students was well-intentioned but said PEC’s poor execution has turned it into a serious issue.
He urged the authorities to review and correct the Smart Syllabus immediately to prevent academic loss for thousands of students.
