United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) is accepting applications to the 2026/2027 Visiting PhD Fellowship Program.
The scholarships are completely funded and enable doctoral students to spend three months in UNU-WIDER, enjoy access to state-of-the-art research facilities and work with the most prominent researchers. The fellowship is open to candidates whose research focuses on challenges of the developing economies and offers academic guidance and institutional assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrolled in a PhD program
- Firm research opportunities that are applicable to developing countries, particularly in economics
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- Good quantitative or qualitative analytical skills
- Women, young researchers and applicants in developing countries are welcome
- Priorities awarded to the candidates in their higher stage of PhD
