Islamabad, June 30, 2025: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has officially opened its doors for applications from eligible and interested students aiming to pursue a postgraduate degree in Germany. This opportunity gives Pakistani students a chance to study in Europe under a prestigious international programme.

As the world’s largest organisation backing global academic exchange, DAAD supports scholars and researchers across borders. The DAAD Masters Scholarships are fully-funded awards offering selected candidates an annual living allowance of €11,208, travel support, and a monthly housing subsidy.

DAAD Study Scholarships – What You Need to Know

The DAAD postgraduate scheme enables students to continue their academic path in Germany by enrolling in postgraduate or advanced-level music programs. Besides academic support, the DAAD initiative also helps participants build connections and share experiences with peers from across the globe.

Funding is available for second-cycle programs (normally a four-semester master’s degree) or for third-cycle options such as a two-semester concert exam, masterclass, or even PhD in an artistic discipline.

2026 DAAD Masters Scholarship Criteria

To be eligible for the 2026 DAAD Masters Scholarship, the following conditions must be met:

  • You must have completed your first university qualification no later than the start of your DAAD-sponsored programme.

Applicants can apply for:

  • A master’s or postgraduate degree ending in a final certificate
  • A supplementary course that doesn’t result in a final degree (note: undergraduate courses are not included)
  • The programme must be completed at a recognised German state music institution of your choice.
  • Your previous degree should not be older than six years by the deadline.
  • Age limits for admission depend on the institution and chosen subject area.
  • Applicants who have stayed in Germany for over 15 months at the time of the deadline are not eligible.

You must demonstrate language proficiency suitable for your chosen institution’s requirements by the time your scholarship starts.
