Islamabad, July 1, 2025: Good news for Pakistani students: South Korea has opened its Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2025. Many still call it the KGSP — the well-known Korean Government Scholarship Program. It’s a golden chance for students who want to get a top degree abroad without spending big money.
The GKS is fully funded. This means no tuition fee, no flight ticket worries, and no stress about living costs. It even pays for medical insurance and gives you an allowance every month. Plus, you get a year to learn the Korean language — which makes daily life much easier when you arrive.
Who Can Apply?
Pakistani students with good grades can apply for Master’s, PhD, or short research stays. You must be under 40 years old. To apply for a Master’s, you need a Bachelor’s degree. For a PhD, you need a Master’s. If you’re still studying but will graduate by July 2025, you can apply too — just attach a hope certificate. If you already got this scholarship before, you can’t apply again.
How Many Seats?
For 2025, South Korea is offering around 1,800 seats worldwide. Students applying from Pakistan either get picked through the Korean Embassy in Islamabad called the Embassy Track or directly by Korean universities, the University Track. Each has its own last date to apply, so check carefully.
