Islamabad, Sep 21: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has declared a 24-hour gas shutdown for all industries and CNG stations in Sindh due to a scarcity of gas supplies in its system. The company blamed low pressure in its pipes and decreased gas availability in a statement released on Friday.
On Sunday, September 22, at 8 a.m., the shutdown will start, and it will end at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 23. All industries will be impacted by this, including those that rely on RLNG for CNG stations and electricity generating units.
According to SSGC, the action complies with OGRA-approved and ECC-authorized clause #14 of the Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) for Industrial Customers. The goal of the decision is to use the sectoral priority order to manage the gas load.
The business issued a strong warning, threatening to take legal action against any enterprise that disobeys the gas closure. Businesses that were open during the outage risked having their gas supplies cut off for at least seven days. The action is taken when the SSGC struggles to maintain low pressure in its system as a result of a depleted line pack brought on by supply issues.
