A gas cylinder exploded in the basement canteen of the Supreme Court building on Monday, injuring at least two people, according to initial reports from media.
Rescue officials said the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Emergency teams and security personnel quickly reached the site and began relief operations.
According to rescue sources, the explosion took place in an air conditioning gas plant located in the basement area, causing tremors throughout the Supreme Court building. The sudden blast created panic among staff and visitors present at the scene.

Following the explosion, lawyers, court employees, and visitors rushed out of the building to safety. Initial reports suggested that four people may have been injured, but authorities later confirmed that two individuals were hurt.
Firefighters and rescue teams controlled the situation and ensured there was no further threat to the premises. Security officials cordoned off the area to assess the damage and determine the cause of the explosion.
Eyewitnesses said the blast was loud enough to be heard across nearby areas, and smoke briefly filled parts of the basement. Officials from the Islamabad administration and police have started an investigation into the incident.
Authorities said the exact cause of the explosion will be confirmed after a detailed technical inspection, but initial indications suggest a gas leak in the air conditioning unit may have triggered the blast.
Normal activities in the Supreme Court resumed after safety checks were carried out, and no major structural damage to the building was reported.
