Islamabad, June 20, 2025: Planning a trip to Sweden in 2025? Pakistani travelers must follow strict financial and documentation rules to qualify for a short-term Sweden Schengen visa.
One of the most crucial requirements is a six-month bank statement showing regular transactions and a stable financial position. This document is key to proving that the applicant has sufficient funds to finance their stay in Sweden.
Sweden, known for its stunning landscapes, clean cities, and advanced lifestyle, continues to attract tourists worldwide. However, unlike citizens of visa-exempt countries, Pakistani passport holders must apply for a Sweden Schengen visa for tourism, business trips, or family visits.
As per the updated regulations, travelers must show the ability to cover expenses of at least €80 per day during their stay. For a full 90-day visit, this equals €7,200. Based on the current exchange rate of €1 = Rs328.4 (as of June 2025), the minimum bank balance required is nearly Rs2.4 million.
The bank statement requirement is one of the most decisive factors in the visa evaluation process. A healthy financial record boosts approval chances, while an inconsistent or low-balance statement may lead to rejection. All visa applications from Pakistan and Afghanistan are processed through the Swedish Embassy in Islamabad.
Besides the bank statement, applicants must also submit:
- A valid passport
- Completed visa form
- Two recent passport-sized photos
- Travel insurance coverage
- Hotel booking or accommodation proof
- Round-trip flight reservation
The Sweden Schengen visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period and is typically processed within 15 working days.
Travel consultants recommend verifying that all documents are accurate, complete, and current. With Sweden rising in popularity among Pakistani tourists, fulfilling every financial and procedural requirement is crucial to avoid delays or denial.
