Islamabad, July 24, 2025: Pakistan set to host a T20 tri-series with Afghanistan and UAE in August 2025, serving as crucial preparation ahead of the Asia Cup campaign.
Pakistan is set to host a competitive tri-nation T20 series in August 2025 as a build-up to the Asia Cup, reshaping what was initially planned as a bilateral series with Afghanistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and relocating the series to UAE venues to mirror the conditions expected in the Asia Cup.
The matches are likely to be held in mid to late August, although final dates are yet to be confirmed. The proposal is currently under review by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with an official announcement expected after its Annual General Meeting in Dhaka this week.

A PCB spokesperson revealed that the tri-series will offer teams valuable match experience in high-pressure situations while helping them adjust to playing conditions in the Gulf region. Cricket analysts have also welcomed the decision, viewing it as a smart move to strengthen team strategies and combinations before the Asia Cup begins.
