Islamabad, July 20, 2025: Pakistan and Bangladesh are set to battle in the 1st T20I today, July 17, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated three-match series. The match will begin at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), while the toss is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
This is Pakistan’s first tour to Bangladesh since December 2021, adding significance to the clash. The Green Shirts arrived in Dhaka after wrapping up a detailed training camp in Karachi. Salman Ali Agha, named captain for the tour, will lead a young squad featuring uncapped pacers Ahmed Daniyal and Mohammad Salman Mirza, both eyeing their international debuts.
Pakistan Aim to Continue Dominance in T20 Format
Historically, Pakistan holds a commanding lead in head-to-head T20I records, having won 19 out of 22 matches against Bangladesh since their first meeting in 2007. Earlier this year, Pakistan swept Bangladesh 3-0 in a home series, showcasing their strong T20 form.
On the other side, Bangladesh enters the series with confidence, following a recent 2-1 series victory against Sri Lanka. Known for their resilience on home soil, Bangladesh will aim to turn the tide and challenge Pakistan’s dominance.
