Islamabad, March 14, 2025: Pakistan’s senior tennis player, Talha Waheed, has etched his name in history by securing a place in the Guinness World Records.

Talha Waheed became the first Pakistani to achieve this distinction after setting a new global benchmark for the most tennis serves in one minute.

According to Guinness World Records, Waheed successfully executed 59 serves within 60 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 42 serves set by American John Perry in 2019.

The unique accomplishment achievement by Talha Waheed reflects his dedication and relentless efforts to elevate his performance in the sport of tennis. 

Waheed, who has competed internationally in ITF tournaments in his outstanding career, achieved a career-high ranking of 144 in the 40+ doubles category.

Over the years, he has claimed multiple national titles in the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles divisions, consistently representing Pakistan in global competitions.

Determined to break the record of American Perry, Waheed committed to a rigorous three-month training program, refining his technique and speed.

On November 8, 2024, he officially attempted the record in Lahore under Guinness World Records’ strict guidelines.

His perseverance was rewarded when, on March 10, 2025, Guinness officially confirmed his achievement, making him a world record holder.

Pakistani tennis officials and sports figures have lauded Waheed’s accomplishment, recognizing it as a landmark moment for tennis in the country.

Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Secretary General Col Ziauddin Tufail, along with fellow players, extended their congratulations, emphasizing the significance of this achievement in inspiring future athletes.
