Systems Limited (SYS), one of Pakistan’s leading software companies, has said that tariffs on IT services from India could create new opportunities for Pakistan’s technology sector.

The statement was made during a corporate briefing session attended by brokerage house Insight Securities. The report of the session was shared on Monday.

According to SYS management, changing global trade dynamics and the possibility of duties on Indian IT exports could redirect business to emerging markets, including Pakistan.

“This will have a significant positive impact not only on Systems Limited but also on the broader IT industry in Pakistan, given its relatively smaller size compared to India,” the management noted.

Analysts believe that Pakistan’s IT sector could attract more outsourcing contracts if clients seek alternatives to Indian providers facing tariffs. This shift, they added, may strengthen foreign exchange earnings and improve the country’s competitiveness in the global digital economy.
