Islamabad, Mar 11 2025: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its central contracts list for 2025, reverting to a grade-based salary structure instead of format-based contracts.
Taskin Ahmed is the only cricketer in the A+ category, securing a monthly salary of BDT 1 million (USD 8,200 approx.), a significant upgrade from last year when he was in the white-ball-only category.
The shift in policy aims to ensure better financial recognition for Test specialists, according to BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Najmul Abedeen Fahim.
The previous format-based system had made it challenging to fairly compensate long-format players.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, alongside Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim, has been placed in Grade A, earning BDT 800,000 (USD 6,600 approx.) per month.
Notably, this marks a rare instance where the national captain is not in the top contract category.
Mushfiqur Rahim, following his ODI retirement, will move to Grade B with a salary of BDT 600,000 (USD 4,900 approx.). Speedster Nahid Rana has been included in Grade B after an impressive 2024 season.
Meanwhile, four new players—Jaker Ali, Tanzid Hasan, Rishad Hossain, and Soumya Sarkar—have earned Grade C contracts, while veterans like Mahmudullah have opted out.
