The Punjab Higher Education Department has decided to take strict action against government officers, teachers and employees found holding memberships or official positions in political and religious parties.
According to the Higher Education Department, service rules clearly state that no government employee can become a member or office bearer of any political or religious party during service.
Complaints were filed against several faculty members, including Dr. Mutiullah Bajwa of Government Gulberg College, Dr. Hammad Lakhvi, Dean and Professor at Punjab University, Lecturer Abdul Rehman Shariq, Dr. Ibrahim Salfi of Government Shalimar College Lahore, Professor Abdul Sattar Hameed and Professor Hameed Abdul Rehman.

It has been alleged that these individuals are holding key positions in different political and religious organizations. The complaints have also demanded proceedings under the PEDA Act against the concerned officials.
The Higher Education Department emphasized that disciplinary measures will be initiated to ensure strict enforcement of service rules and prevent misuse of official positions for political or religious activities.
