Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: Tehran movie released under the banner of Arun Gopalan direction and produced under Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films is an interesting spy thriller. The plot of the story is based on actual events with John Abraham and Manushi Chhillar in the lead roles, inspired by the 2012 attack on the Israeli diplomats in Delhi. Being released on ZEE5 on August 14, 2025, the film has already become one of the spearheads in the patriotic content season as of Independence Day.
The story is about a Special Cell police officer DCP Rajeev Kumar (John Abraham) who is probing an unusual bomb attack in Delhi that kills several people. This mission is very personal as a young flower-seller that he was an acquaintance of was killed by the attack. Rajeev soon discovers a web of deceit that includes Iran, Israel, and India and has to act on his own as the political pressure increased.
His performance is the most subtle, critics praise John Abraham. Abandoning his typical action-hero image, he brings a leash, and brilliantly emotional performance to the role of a man, crushed by both personal tragedy and world politics. Meanwhile, Manushi Chhillar, who briefly appears on screen, plays SI Divya Rana whose mere presence raises the tension in the film with barely many lines.

In contrast to most spy thrillers, the Tehran movie focuses more on tensions than on bombs and car chases. The screenplay by Ritesh Shah, Ashish P. Verma and Bindni Karia traverses the risky geopolitical position of India and makes a viewer interested and engaged. The film comes out clearly with powerful acts and a strong story that is memorable.
