Islamabad, Jan 26: To evaluate the performance and quality of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) in Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) conducted an Independent Quality of Service (QoS) Survey in 17 cities nationwide during Q4 2024. The survey assessed key parameters such as voice quality, mobile broadband, and SMS services. Zong and Jazz emerged as leaders in most categories, while Ufone performed well in some areas. Unfortunately, Telenor fell behind, reflecting significant room for improvement.
Despite achieving several Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined in their licenses and regulations, CMOs faced challenges related to internet speed and network reliability. These issues, particularly noticeable throughout 2024, highlighted the need for consistent upgrades in network infrastructure.
