LAHORE, June 14, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation this evening with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye.

In their warm and cordial exchange, the two leaders expressed deep concern over the escalating regional situation following Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression against Iran. They agreed that Israel’s military strikes had clearly violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in breach of the UN Charter and international law, posing a serious threat to both regional and global peace and stability.

Both leaders also strongly condemned Israel’s continued and unrestrained military aggression against the Palestinian people, which has persisted with complete impunity.

They stressed the urgent need for the international community and the United Nations to take collective action and call on Israel to immediately cease its hostile and unlawful actions against Iran, Palestine, and other nations in the region.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to international peace, security, and stability, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan would continue to contribute constructively to peace efforts, both as a member of the UN Security Council and through platforms like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He also informed President Erdogan that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar would represent Pakistan at the upcoming OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting in Istanbul. The Prime Minister extended congratulations to President Erdogan on being honored by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF).

Both leaders shared updates on their respective diplomatic engagements amid the ongoing crisis and agreed to maintain close coordination on efforts to restore peace in the region.
