The centerpiece remains the 15.4-inch central touchscreen, now accompanied by an 8-inch rear passenger screen, allowing for entertainment options such as games and videos. The front seats are equipped with ventilation and heating, and the rear seats now feature electronic folding for added convenience. Tesla has also refined the steering controls, keeping a traditional indicator stalk while shifting gear selection and autopilot functions to the touchscreen.
Performance and Range Improvements
Tesla has made impressive strides in both performance and range with the updated Model Y:
- Standard Range Rear-Wheel Drive: Offers a range of up to 466 km per charge.
- Long Range All-Wheel Drive: Increases the range to 550 km, surpassing the previous 533 km.
- The AWD variant accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 4.3 seconds, improving on the previous 4.8 seconds.
- Enhanced charging speeds now reach 250kW for the long-range model and 170kW for the standard version.
Pricing and Availability
The 2025 Tesla Model Y is priced from AUD 63,400 (approximately £31,900) in Australia, making it a competitive option in the EV market. With its upgraded features and performance improvements, the Model Y is set to maintain its place as a best-seller in key markets, including the UK.
