Islamabad, June 6, 2025: Tesla stock value fell by 14.2%, closing at $284.70 on Thursday with losses accelerating downward following President Donald Trump’s comments.

Since Tuesday, Elon Musk has made more than a dozen posts on X, harshly criticizing policy bills. He described it as “massive, outrageous” and “pork-filled,” while adding, “shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong.”

Musk suffered a major loss of $25.5 billion in personal fortune after Thursday’s stock slump, bringing his total net worth down to around $389 billion, as reported by Forbes.

According to FactSet data, it was Tesla’s 11th most worst single trading day since the company went public in 2010, even though some ground was regained later in the day after losses reached over 17% during the Thursday afternoon session.

The stock decline in Tesla’s also comes as sales for the automaker declined. In May, automobile deliveries fell sharply in key markets like the UK, Germany, Italy, and China. Sales in the UK dropped by over 45%, while the Chinese market saw a 15% decrease despite the overall Tesla experienced a 28% boost in sales.

Earlier in May, Tesla stock had jumped 22%, which came as Musk announced that he would step away from any official White House role and continue as Tesla’s CEO for at least another five years.

Looking ahead, Tesla plans to roll out its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, this June, featuring about 20 autonomous Model Y cars. The launch comes amid rising concerns over Tesla’s driver-assist software.

U.S. regulators have launched multiple investigations into the company’s Autopilot system, including whether its Full-Self Driving feature played a role in two recent fatalities. While Musk insists the software enables full autonomy, he has also clarified that a human driver must remain engaged while operating the vehicle.
