Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, met with representatives of Octans Digital Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Interloop Holdings, to discuss Digital Product Passport for Exports, sustainability, waste management, and recycling in Pakistan’s textile sector.
Talks focused on the proposed introduction of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) for textile exports, aimed at improving transparency, traceability, and compliance in the global supply chain. Drawing on his experience in digital innovation at one of Pakistan’s leading textile exporters, Ihsaan assessed both the opportunities and challenges of adopting the DPP framework.

Calling the concept “brilliant” and “of primary importance,” he stressed the need for multi-stakeholder engagement and said the government may consider forming a dedicated committee to study its implementation.
The meeting underscored the role of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable practices and innovation in Pakistan’s textile industry, a key pillar of the national export economy.
