Islamabad, June 3, 2025: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) speaking at an event in Karachi has strongly objected and criticized the Export Facilitation Scheme.

Speaking at the event, representatives urged the government to exclude yarn and fabric from the scheme in the upcoming federal budget. “If our demands are ignored, we will consider taking the matter to court,” warned Kamran Arshad, one of the key speakers.

He further added that nearly 800 textile units have shut down, and many ginners have defaulted on bank payments, highlighting the serious financial stress across the industry.

The conference ended with a united stance, as textile groups announced their intention to launch protests if the scheme is not revised. The industry leaders emphasized that the policy, in its current form, could harm the local value chain and deepen the crisis for smaller and medium-sized manufacturers.
