Islamabad, 22 May, 2025: There are countless rich people in the world, but very few are living a royal life like Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
According to a report by The Business Standard, King Rama X, known as Rama X, is not only a ruler but also considered the richest monarch in the world. His lifestyle is also very luxurious and it even looks modest compared to celebrities.
His father ruled the Buddhist monarchy for 70 years, making him one of the world’s longest-serving monarchs.
Vajiralongkorn was crowned in May 2019 after his 88-year-old father Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away on October 13, 2016.
King Vajiralongkorn’s wealth is estimated at around 3.7 lakh crores (about 43 billion US dollars). He inherited most of this immense wealth.
However, the king has further expanded his empire by investing in land and some of Thailand’s largest companies.
He owns thousands of acres of land across Thailand, with over 17,000 properties in Bangkok alone. While most people spend their entire lives trying to buy a house, this king literally owns parts of the entire capital.
The King owns over 300 luxury cars, including top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benzes, BMWs, and even stretch limousines. He also owns 38 private jets, many of which are adorned with royal insignia and gold interiors.
He owns 52 golden yachts, and these are not ordinary yachts, but are decorated with gold and are only used during royal ceremonies.
Vajiralongkorn, born in 1952, is the only son of the late King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand. He began his early education in Thailand and attended private schools in the United Kingdom and Australia before moving abroad for further education, eventually enrolling at the prestigious Royal Military College, Duntroon, in Canberra.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in military studies from the University of New South Wales in Australia. According to his official royal biography, Vajiralongkorn is not only academically accomplished but also a trained military professional.
He is a certified fighter jet and helicopter pilot and serves as a full-time officer in the Royal Thai Army.
During his military career in the 1970s, he participated in operations against communist insurgents inside Thailand.
He has had four marriages, each of which has attracted attention for one reason or another. His personal life is also often in the headlines, as is his extravagant spending.
