Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in bilateral discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, the President affirmed the UAE’s unwavering support and committed to investing $10 billion across various sectors in Pakistan.
A press release from the Prime Minister’s Office highlighted the comprehensive nature of the discussions, encompassing political, economic, social, cultural, and defense cooperation between the two nations. Emphasis was placed on enhancing existing collaboration and fortifying the strategic partnership, particularly in information technology, renewable energy, and tourism.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the government’s initiatives aimed at fostering socio-economic stability and bolstering investor confidence. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to effectively implementing agreements in energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, and banking services.
Moreover, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for hosting 1.8 million Pakistani expatriates and underscored Pakistan’s significant human resource potential across various sectors.
The leaders also discussed mutual interests concerning regional and global developments. Prime Minister Sharif extended an official invitation to the UAE President to visit Pakistan, which was accepted.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
