As per the forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Eid ul Adha is likely to be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024.
According to the Climate Data Processing Centre of the Met Office, the crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah is expected to appear on June 6 at 5:38 PM. The PMD stated that the moon’s age in Karachi at sunset would be 26 hours and 8 minutes, with an expected visibility duration of 72 minutes after sunset. It clarified that the moon needs to be at least 19 hours old to be visible. The official announcement of Eid ul Adha’s date will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in the coming days.
Furthermore, the Establishment Division has declared holidays from June 17 to 19 for Eid ul Adha this year. Official notifications regarding these holidays will be issued by the federal and provincial governments a few days before Eid.
