Thousands of retired employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) are still waiting for their September pension, causing widespread anxiety among pensioners. The delay in payment has left many retirees struggling to meet their daily household expenses.

Sayed Tahir Hussain, president of the PIA Retired Employees Association, stated that repeated attempts to contact the company secretary and chief finance officer have not yielded any response. “Our members are facing severe financial stress due to the unpaid pensions,” he said.

According to sources, the responsibility for paying pensions lies with PIA Holding Company. However, CEO Asad Rasool has avoided commenting on the delay. Retired employees are urging the government to ensure prompt payment so that hundreds of families do not face further hardship.
