Islamabad, 15 May, 2025: TikTok has officially announced its collaboration with the Cannes Film Festival for 2025, stepping in as an official sponsor.
The partnership gives the platform unique access to a range of festival events and behind-the-scenes content.
As part of this deal, TikTok will showcase highlights and updates from the festival through a dedicated in-app Cannes Film Festival hub. Users will be able to watch exclusive clips, news, and backstage moments, all curated under the special tag #Cannes2025.
“As an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, TikTok returns to the Croisette and unveils its special programming for #Cannes2025. We are thrilled to continue to offer our global community of over 1 billion users behind-the-scenes access to one of the world’s most prestigious cultural events.”

TikTok’s also teaming up with a range of content creators who will attend the Cannes, and will share firsthand coverage from the event.

TikTok reports that the #FilmTok tag saw a 94.7% rise in activity from April 2024 to April 2025, with over 1.8 million posts.
The previous Cannes hashtag, #Cannes2024, had more than 22,000 videos created under it.
In earlier years, TikTok also hosted its own short film contest alongside the main event. However, for 2025, the focus shifts more toward being a central partner rather than holding a separate showcase.
With more film lovers turning to TikTok for content, reviews, and reactions, this strengthened relationship with Cannes makes perfect sense bringing the glamor of the red carpet straight to users’ screens around the world.
