Islamabad, Mar 14, 2025: The exchange rate for the Saudi Riyal (SAR) in Pakistan’s open market saw a marginal uptick, settling at Rs74.66 on Friday, March 14, 2025, following a slight appreciation of one paisa.

Similarly, the selling rate improved, with currency exchange firms quoting 1 SAR at Rs75.06, as per data from the Forex Association of Pakistan.

The Saudi Riyal (SAR) serves as Saudi Arabia’s official currency, with each Riyal further divided into 100 halalas.

Current Saudi Riyal to PKR Exchange Rate

As of today, the Saudi Riyal holds a value of Rs74.66 in the open market, meaning an exchange of 1,000 SAR would yield Rs74,660 in Pakistani rupees.

In February 2025, Pakistan recorded $3.1 billion in remittances from overseas workers, reflecting a 3.8% rise from January 2025, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

On a year-over-year basis, remittances experienced a remarkable 38.6% surge compared to the $2.25 billion received in February 2024.

Among the leading contributors, Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia played a pivotal role, remitting $744.4 million in February 2025.

This amount marked a 2.21% increase from the preceding month.

Annually, remittances from Saudi Arabia exhibited a substantial growth of 37.88%.

The robust financial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to bolster Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, with remittances serving as a fundamental pillar of the country’s economic stability.
