Islamabad, Aug 1, 2025: In a groundbreaking step to empower Pakistani youth in high-tech research, the Ministry of IT & Telecom has partnered with top Canadian university, McMaster University, to offer scholarships for Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) and Ph.D. programs. This collaboration opens doors for graduates across Pakistan to access world-class education and research opportunities.
The initiative centers around the globally recognized McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC), led by renowned academic Dr. Ryan Ahmed. Students accepted into the program will engage in cutting-edge research projects in advanced engineering fields such as:
- Mechatronics
- Artificial Intelligence
- Autonomous and Electric Vehicles
- Energy Storage Systems
- Hybrid Powertrain Technologies
These scholarships are offered through McMaster’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and are specifically tailored to address the growing global demand for skilled professionals in future mobility and smart energy systems.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from a recognized university. Pakistani graduates with a strong academic record and passion for innovation are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply?
Applicants are required to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) through the official link shared by the Ministry of IT & Telecom. After submission, shortlisted individuals will undergo a formal evaluation process conducted by McMaster University.
