Islamabad, June 16, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cultural and Tourism Authority has requested travelers to refrain from visiting Naran and Kaghan between June 15 and June 18 due to ongoing repair work on the Mahandri Bridge.
Authorities have confirmed that the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) Road will be temporarily shut down during this period while a 33-foot-wide steel bridge is being installed. This structure is replacing the previous bridge destroyed during flash floods last year.
According to DPO Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, the new bridge is important for getting back normal two-way traffic and handling the big number of tourists expected this summer. The earlier bridge collapse had caused serious problems for travel between KP and Gilgit-Baltistan, with the route staying blocked for quite a while.

Tourists are being strongly advised to delay their travel plans to these popular spots during the specified days and instead take the Karakoram Highway if they need to reach Gilgit-Baltistan.
