Islamabad 13 August: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan for August 13–14 to manage the anticipated influx of visitors and participants during the Ma’rakah-e-Haq commemorations in the capital. The plan includes major road closures, diversions, and alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and security.
Major Road Closures
- Srinagar Highway: Fully closed to all general traffic in both directions from Zero Point to Jinnah Square.
- Heavy Traffic Ban: All heavy vehicles prohibited from entering Islamabad from 12:00 p.m. on August 13 until 3:00 a.m. on August 14.
- Other closures include:
- Murree Road via Shakarparian Road
- Chand Tara Chowk
- Garden Avenue I-8
- I-8 Garden Bridge
- G-7 Loop
- Sports Complex Turn on Murree Road Garden Avenue
Alternative Routes for Commuters
- From Motorway: Use Peshawar Mor → 9th Avenue → Jinnah Avenue → Embassy Road → Serena Hotel to reach Srinagar Highway, Murree, or Bhara Kahu.
- From Zero Point: Take the left loop toward Suharwardy Road → Aabpara → Serena Hotel.
- From Murree/Bhara Kahu to Rawalpindi: Korang Road → Bani Gala → Park Road → Faizabad.
- From Murree Jinnah Square: Kashmir Chowk → Club Road → Faizabad.
- From Kashmir Chowk: Suharwardy Road → Aabpara Chowk → Zero Point.

ITP officials will be deployed at major roads and intersections to guide motorists. Citizens are urged to plan their journeys in advance, use the designated alternative routes, and avoid unnecessary travel during the restricted hours.
