Traffic fines are no longer sent and managed via the old system of delivering and managing these on email. Henceforth, the e-challans in the future would reach citizens directly on WhatsApp. With this change people can see their challan information and the associated images on their mobile phones immediately.

Safe Cities authorities said that people will not have to depend on email to pay or rectify less than careless challans. Rather, all e-challans will be sent to the excise department-registered mobile numbers through WhatsApp. The messages will include a safe link to online payment and the payments can also be done via the official Safe Cities web page.

On the site a new form of review has been created so that those who wish to contest a challan may do so. Citizens are also able to send a request through this feature, thus, allowing the technical team to revise and modify e-challans online at a fast rate in the cases of emergency.
