The Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2025) begins today in Karachi, with the traffic police releasing a detailed plan to keep traffic smooth around the Expo Center. The event will continue until November 6 at the Karachi Expo Center.

Traffic Restrictions Around the Expo

According to Karachi Traffic Police, heavy and commercial vehicles will not be allowed on key roads leading to the Expo Center and National Stadium during the event. The decision aims to prevent congestion and ensure smooth public movement.

Key restrictions include:

  • Heavy vehicles coming from Shahrah-e-Faisal (Nursery side) are not allowed toward the stadium.
  • Movement from Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road to Sir Shah Suleman Road is restricted.

Alternate Routes for Motorists

  • Motorcyclists using Karsaz or Drigh Road can travel through Rashid Minhas Road via Millennium Mall or Nipa.
  • Vehicles from the airport will be diverted from Drigh Road to Rashid Minhas Road and Millennium Mall to keep the traffic flow steady.

Heavy Vehicle Diversions

Heavy and commercial traffic from Rashid Minhas Road and Millennium Mall will not be allowed near the stadium or Dalmia. Instead, such vehicles will be redirected through:

  • Shahrah-e-Faisal
  • Nipa
  • Gulshan Chowrangi
  • Sohrab Goth
  • Safora Goth

No heavy vehicle will be permitted from Nipa towards Hassan Square or into University Road. These vehicles will be moved to Shaheed-e-Millat Road through Baloch Bridge.

Road Closures and Open Routes

  • Sir Shah Suleman Road, between Liaquatabad No.10 and Hassan Square, will stay closed for heavy vehicles.
  • Light vehicles can use alternative routes from Karimabad to Sohrab Goth through Shahrah-e-Pakistan.
  • The Hassan Square flyover will remain open for small vehicles going to and from the National Stadium.

Authorities have urged citizens to follow police instructions and use alternate routes to ensure smooth traffic during PIMEC 2025 in Karachi and to avoid inconvenience during the major international event.
