To combat smog in Lahore, the traffic police have become active. According to CTO Lahore Dr. Athar Waheed, special teams have been deployed at the entry and exit points of the city, and vehicles without fitness certificates have now been banned from entering the city.

According to the spokesperson of the traffic police, during the month of October, action was taken against 24,591 vehicles without fitness certificates, while more than 17,000 smoke-emitting vehicles and nearly 8,000 unsafe trolleys carrying sand or soil were also fined.

The CTO Lahore stated that compared to October last year, four times more actions were taken this October.

He further said that citizens should ensure timely maintenance of their vehicles to help prevent the spread of smog. The traffic police will intensify their operations in the coming days.
