Islamabad, 24 May 2025: Motorways M-2 and M-3 have been reopened for all types of traffic after a temporary closure due to a powerful dust storm and dangerously low visibility. According to Syed Imran Ahmed, the spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the situation has now improved significantly, allowing for safe travel.

Earlier today, several sections of the motorways were closed due to intense dust storms, strong winds, and heavy cloud cover, according to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police.

M-2 has been shut down from Thokar Niaz Baig to Kot Momin, while M-3 is closed between Faizpur and Darkhana. The Lahore-Sialkot Motorway has also been closed following a severe storm in the region.

Motorway Police officials stated that the closures were precautionary measures to ensure public safety and to prevent any road accidents. Travelers had been advised to avoid unnecessary journeys and stay updated through official Motorway Police channels.
