Islamabad, June 24, 2025: In a dramatic development, U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” between Israel and Iran, effectively bringing an end to what he dubbed “The 12-Day War.” The ceasefire will take effect in stages, with Iran beginning its pause first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. If upheld, the ceasefire will mark the official end of hostilities within 24 hours.
Trump took to Truth Social to congratulate both nations for avoiding a larger regional conflict. “This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!” he stated. “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
Just hours before announcing the peace deal, Trump downplayed Iran’s ballistic missile strike on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the U.S. military’s largest base in the Middle East—calling it a restrained action. He revealed that Tehran had issued an early warning ahead of the attack, allowing for defensive measures. “I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured,” Trump posted.
According to Trump, all 14 missiles were either intercepted or diverted, causing minimal damage and no casualties. The base also hosts Qatari and allied forces. “I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE,” he wrote.
Emphasizing a hopeful future, Trump added, “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.”
As the world watches the region with cautious optimism, Trump’s dual message of de-escalation and diplomacy signals a rare moment of unity amid long-standing tensions.
