Islamabad, 7 May, 2025: US President Donald Trump expressed concern on Tuesday over the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan.

He urged a quick resolution after Indian forces launched strikes in response to a deadly attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Speaking from the White House, Trump described the situation as “a shame” and expressed hope for a rapid end to the hostilities.

He noted that tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations had been ongoing for decades, with both sides engaged in a long history of conflict.

“I just hope it ends very quickly,” Trump stated, reflecting the urgency of the situation.

The escalation followed India’s military action, which targeted what it claimed were “terrorist camps” on Pakistani territory.

The strikes followed a deadly attack in IIOJK that killed 26 people, with Indian forces targeting three sites in Azad Kashmir and two in Punjab.

Pakistan also reported civilian casualties, including the deaths of three people, including a child, due to the Indian airstrikes.
