Islamabad, June 24, 2025: In a fiery social media post, U.S. President Donald J. Trump expressed alarm over remarks attributed to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, accusing him of “casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!)” and hinting at the possible supply of nuclear warheads to Iran.
Trump questioned whether Medvedev’s statement was real or “just a figment of my imagination,” demanding immediate confirmation and emphasizing the seriousness of nuclear threats.
Trump further boasted about America’s unmatched military power, particularly highlighting the deadly precision and superiority of U.S. nuclear submarines. “They are the most powerful and lethal weapons ever built,” he wrote, mentioning a recent launch of 30 Tomahawk missiles that “all hit their mark perfectly.”
In response, Medvedev issued a pointed statement on X (formerly Twitter), distancing Russia from any nuclear cooperation with Iran. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and stated, “Unlike Israel, we are parties to the NPT.” Medvedev also warned against competing over nuclear stockpiles and highlighted the fragility of the New START treaty, which he once signed with a U.S. president. “The question is: what comes next?” he asked.
