The Balochistan Green and Pink Bus Project has been launched with the arrival of 21 new buses to improve public transport in Quetta and Turbat. The initiative, introduced on the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, marks a major step toward modern and safer commuting in the province.
According to officials, 17 buses will operate in Quetta and 4 in Turbat. Out of these, 5 buses painted pink will be reserved for women in Quetta, providing them with a safe and dignified travel option. The remaining 12 green buses will serve key urban routes, offering citizens a more reliable and efficient service.
Transport Secretary Muhammad Hayat Kakar confirmed that the buses have been inspected and are ready to operate. He said the project would not only improve daily travel for thousands of passengers but also generate employment opportunities.
