Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The Islamabad district administration on Tuesday announced a ban on drones and camcopters in the federal capital for two months under Section 144. The restriction aims to address possible security threats and will remain in place until further notice.

As per the official notification, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is strictly prohibited, except for operations carried out by law enforcement agencies and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.

The District Magistrate stated that drones could endanger sensitive installations and public safety. This step has been taken urgently to preserve law and order. Any violation of this order will be dealt with according to the law.
