Islamabad, 26 March 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced two new additions to its Elite Panel of Umpires.
As per the details, Allahudien Paleker from South Africa and Alex Wharf from England have replaced Michael Gough and Joel Wilson.
Paleker has officiated in multiple international matches, including four Tests, 23 ODIs, and 67 T20Is in men’s cricket, along with 17 women’s international games.

He has also officiated in major ICC events such as the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and the Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.
Wharf, who previously played 13 ODIs for England, brings extensive officiating experience. His umpiring career includes seven Tests, 33 ODIs, and 45 T20Is.
He has been part of recent ICC tournaments, including the Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cups and the upcoming Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
ICC Chair Jay Shah congratulated the new members while acknowledging the contributions of Gough and Wilson.
He emphasized that umpiring at the elite level demands resilience and expertise, expressing confidence in Paleker and Wharf’s ability to meet the challenges ahead.
Paleker described his promotion as a defining moment in his career, expressing gratitude to his mentors, colleagues, and family.

He credited his father, Jamalodien, as a key inspiration and acknowledged the unwavering support of his wife, Shakira.
Wharf also extended his thanks to the ICC and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for their trust.
He highlighted the importance of guidance from senior colleagues and expressed eagerness to embrace the responsibilities of his new role.
