Islamabad, June 23, 2025: In a heartbreaking twist during Game 7 of the NBA Finals 2025, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton’s suffered a serious injury, casting a shadow over the team’s championship dreams. The Pacers vs Thunder Game 7 clash ended with a 103-91 victory for Oklahoma City, but it was Haliburton’s early exit that stole the headlines.
The 25-year-old guard collapsed just minutes into the first quarter, aggravating a right calf strain he had been battling for a week. Support staff helped Haliburton off the court, and he was later seen on crutches. While the Pacers reported it as a “lower right leg injury,” his father told ESPN that it may be an Achilles injury.
“What happened with Tyrese, all of our hearts dropped,” said head coach Rick Carlisle in the post-game press conference. “He’ll be back in time, and I believe he’ll make a full recovery.”
Despite Haliburton’s absence, Indiana held a one-point lead at halftime. The All-Star playmaker, known for his leadership, even motivated his teammates during the break. However, the Thunder dominated the third quarter, outscoring Indiana 34-20 and shifting momentum permanently.
Carlisle praised Haliburton’s playoff performance, calling it “one of the greatest individual playoff runs in NBA history.”
“He did it as one of 17,” said Carlisle. “As great a player as he is, it’s always a team thing with him.”
With Tyrese Haliburton’s injury in Game 7 potentially long-term, the Pacers now face a difficult offseason. Fans await official confirmation on the extent of the injury, but hope remains that their leader will return stronger in 2026.
